160-188 Stratford High St, London

The 160-188 Stratford High Street Development in East London is a 26 storey residential development with two lower levels of retail space. ConForce Ltd was awarded the installation and stressing of the post-tensioning to the suspended slabs by Lancsville Constructions.

The design of the slabs was carried out by Walsh Associates using un-bonded post-tensioning techniques, where individual strands are housed inside a plastic coated greased sheath. No grouting of the individual strands takes place and hence the strands are “live” throughout the course of the structures life.

With a total suspended floor slab area of approximately 30,000m2 and a height of 26 storeys, the Stratford High Street Development is one of the tallest residential developments in London.
