Paradise St , Liverpool

The Paradise Street development in Liverpool is an eight storey mixed use development providing a combination of retail space and public car parking. The unique structure will incorporate traditional, post tensioning and precast methods of construction.

The retail space for the development is limited to levels one, two and three with public car parking provided at levels four to eight. The structure has been re-designed by ConForce as a fully insitu post- tensioned concrete frame. At levels two and three in the retail areas the form of construction is flat slabs with beam and slab construction adopted for the upper car park areas covering an area of approximately 4,200 sq.m per slab.

The system is ideally suited for use in flat slab situations where the use of the maximum tendon eccentricity allows the slab depth to be kept to an absolute minimum.
