New Street Square, London

The Land Securities New Street Square Development, located in central London, is a multi use development consisting of 4 separate towers which provide a combination of retail and office space. ConForce Limited were engaged by concrete contractors Byrne Bros to supply and install the post-tensioning to the 12 storey Block D tower. The Block D tower as designed and detailed by Walsh Associates utilised 15.7mm diameter dyform strand for all tendons, a larger strand size to that normally used in flat slab construction. The post-tensioning system used by ConForce was able to accomodate the larger strand size without any changes to either components or stressing systems.

With each floor slab constructed in four separate pours and a site programme of two pours cast per week, each floor is constructed over a two week period with a total site programme for ConForce of 24 weeks.
