Bangholm Terrace, Edinburgh

Bangholm Terrace, Edinburgh is a 5 storey residential development by Cala Homes in Edinburgh. ConForce assisted in the early stages in providing designs for the post tensioned slabs to enable the client to realise the full benefits of the system i.e. thinner slabs, flat soffits resulting in considerable cost and programme savings.

In late 2007 ConForce were awarded the subcontract to complete the design and carry out the supply and installation of the system. The work comprises of placing, stressing and grouting tendons to 5 floors totalling an area of 2530m². The slabs are 250mm thick with spans between columns of up to 8.5m. The MK4 post tensioning system is used which is an internationally recognised system having Technical Approval to the latest Eurpean standards, ETAG 013.

Construction started in April 2008 with completion due in June 2008.
