ConForce were approached by Anderson to prepare a scheme for the transfer floors of 4 buildings at their design build project at Cuckoo Point, Colchester. These are residential blocks of various floor shapes and sizes; the total area of floor post tensioned is 1250m² approx.

With Andersons previously using a heavy and complex R.C. beam and slab floor, ConForce prepared a scheme for a post tensioned flat slab to carry the loads from the various walls and columns above; these are of traditional brick and block construction. This proposal was selected by Andersons and ConForce were awarded the contract in June 2008 to complete the design and carry out the site works for the post tensioning installation.

After detailed design development with Andersons and their Engineers, the design calculations and drawings were completed and site work started in August 2008 with completion in October 2008.

We are very pleased to be working on this our second project with Andersons in 2008 and are hopeful of securing further work with them in the future.
